"How exciting! Pearl had her first agility training on Monday (private session)! Her trainer was so impressed! She did every apparatus flawlessly and fearlessly! (Of course, there's a treat at the end; how could she not?) The weaves, tunnel, chute, tire jump, A-frame, see-saw, dog walk, pause table...she did it all with enthusiasm! Even did three hurdles in a row! Diane is a great trainer and could probably get Pearl to stand on her head if she had a mind to. We started everything slow (and low) and had three recesses in between. She said Pearl is amazing; even used the 'champion' word a few times (do they all say that?)! She kept saying, 'She'll be just like Ted. Do you know who Ted is?' Apparently, Ted is a champion Golden Retriever agility dog. She says I need to Google him (Barb White, Turner, OR) but I couldn't find anything on Ted.

She was overflowing with compliments on how well-trained Pearl is. When it was time to go home, she nearly fell over when I had Pearly put her recess toys back in the toy bin. I love it when people think my dog is as wonderful as I do!

Ok, so these two photos AREN'T from her class this past Monday. I took them in November when we were on vacation and stayed in a KOA campground behind Circus Circus in Las Vegas. They had a special agility play yard for doggy campers, and Pearly got to try everything out there. She had so much fun that I decided to enroll her. I'll have Dewey take some training pics the next time he can go with me.

I'm so excited about this! Both Pearl and I have lots to learn! We might be ready for our first competition in October! "

"Robin, You breed amazing dogs. Frankie is so strong and healthy, and to top it off she is such a happy dog. I seriously think she smiles all day. I thought you might enjoy [this] picture." - Katie Dowell

"I hope you are doing well. I thought you might enjoy these pictures. Frankie has so many friends in the neighborhood and is just a love. She is very strong willed, and we keep her in check" - Katie Dowell

"Honey is doing fabulously. She is the sweetest girl, and so smart. We have teaching her to sit, stay, come, answer to her name, look, etc. She is 13# and just had her shots. Her house training is going great. She hasn't had an accident in the house for I don't know how long..since last week. And the accidents have been few and far between. She has such a silly personality. She loves to be held in our arms like a baby on her back and looking at everyone upside down. She'll sit like that for a while. Which makes her look completely different, because her ears hang, making them look like she is a dog like Bolt (upside down). She also likes to sleep with her head down and her body up, like on a slope or elevated. She'll hang her head down your legs and sleep almost upside down. She sleeps all night only needing to go out the first time usually between 6:30-8:00. She continues to have the perfect personality for the visiting work we want to do one day. We used the tests in the monks' book to test her ourselves, like how you were demonstrating for us. Though their tests were done by strangers still we found that she totally fit the score all around for a dog that is well suited for service. The children all get in on training her and they all amaze me at how well they do with her and she with them. They are better than I am at remembering all of the steps for the different commands.

She is definitely therapy for our own family, regardless of who else she ever "ministers" to in the future. We just found out last week that my husband's aortic stenosis is severe (last time it was checked 2 years ago they said it was mild). He goes in for his angiogram tomorrow and then we will be meeting with the surgeons in order to set up his valve replacement surgery. With the craziness it sure is a blessing to have her with us. She has such a calming effect on everyone. Still I am just impressed and thankful for your willingness to match puppies with the right home. You said she was a sweetheart and that she is!

We will send another update in the future."

"I thought you might like an update on Sydney for the new year. She really is great! She is much loved, well-trained, and really happy. I smile every time she rings the bell to go out -- and any one who comes to the house is amazed that our dog rings the bell when she needs to go out! She is so smart that sometimes she rings the bell just to see if we'll give her a treat for that! We did a training class with our son and he has become quite the responsible dog owner -- Sydney has really become his dog and she has really bonded with him. She still likes to chew so we have to be cautious about where we leave the TV remote control -- not sure why that's a treat, but she loves that! She'll outgrow that, though, and had already gotten much better about making sure she chews her toys, not ours.

And, our other dog (Buddy -- 13) LOVES Sydney -- and vice versa. They play so beautifully together -- she's brought out the puppy in Buddy and he's taught her how to be a good dog in our family. They truly can play for hours and have become a little pack! We love to tell the story of when we were having work done on the house, we had Sydney in her pen (a wire one, like you had) and left Buddy behind a dog gate in the same general part of the house. My husband came back to the house and the workers had moved the dog gate and left the door wide open -- so he immediately went looking for Buddy -- looked all over the house and outside but couldn't find him. Then, he went back to check Sydney before starting to comb the neighborhood, and he found Buddy -- he could literally have gone anywhere, but he was laying down against Sydney, and Sydney was sleeping in her pen up against Buddy. They were snuggling back to back! We often find her kind of intertwined with him -- I think she finds that comforting.

As you can tell, we appreciate the great dog we have from your kennel! Her temperament is perfect for our family, and we love being able to take her places (like camping this summer). She is a great dog and I wanted you to know that we think she is happy with our family.

I hope that you are doing well, too. Best wishes for 2009!"
- Sharon (and, Dave, Evan, Buddy and Sydney)

"We brought our puppy (Max) home from you last February. He just turned 1 year old yesterday, so I thought I'd send you some pictures. He is such a wonderful dog!!! He was a very easy puppy to train, too! He is very playful and loves people. So many people have commented on how well behaved he is. He is great with our kids. We were just out playing in the snow. He was from Nelson and Lauria's litter. I hope all is well. Have a great holiday season. We can't thank you enough for this wonderful golden!" - Toni and Chris McLendon

"We got home safely with Lilly on Thursday afternoon. She was great in the car and slept most of the way. We took her to the vet yesterday and everyone was commenting how healthy and beautiful she is! We took her out to lunch at one of our little downtown restaurants and she settled well...which made her look very impressive compared to all the other dogs there. She is getting quite comfortable in her new surroundings - playing with her toys and using her settle spots. She is already 'pottying' in one spot of the yard and following all her commands well. I am looking into a few different training facilities and even getting information on training her as a therapy dog. I will keep you informed of her progress and will most likely be in touch with you next year regarding her future sister My family is so impressed with her and her training that I would expect that you will be meeting them at some point in the future.

Thank you again for all your help and advice, she is already becoming a part of our family. Please thank Laurie again too...it is very obvious that she was very well loved and trained for the past two months."

Maizey graduated from the Eola Hills training program on April 14th, 2008. Robin drove Maizey to our home from Central Oregon to ensure that the transition was smooth and that Maizey would be part of a stable and loving environment. From the moment we met her, Maizey has added so much joy to our family. She arrived 100% potty trained (she has had ZERO accidents) and trained in basic manners and leash skills. Moreover, she is remarkably calm for a puppy who is less than a year old. Although she always loves to play and snuggle when asked, she is equally content just relaxing and being part of the family or the best friend of Mitch, our 1st Eola Hills golden.

We can't thank Robin enough for developing this training program. It is worth every penny, and we would recommend it without hesitation to anyone who is interested.

"In the spring of 2005, weary from traveling from breeder to breeder, tired of the emotional fallout from leaving puppies behind, we came to Eola Hills Kennels and met our little Rebel. Spunky and slightly mischievous, he stole our hearts right away. His gorgeous-coated father, Ragoon, greeted us with his regal stance, while his mother, Ginger, melted us with her sweet face. Rebel has since developed into a beautiful dog, sharing Ragoon's stately posture and lovely cream-and-golden coat with the long white feathering. People stop us on the street or in the 'doggy fields' to comment on his beautiful coat. He lives to run and retrieve, and he can't stay out of the water. His disposition is so sweet and he always tries to please...well, most of the time. Rebel now is part of every aspect of our lives; he dictates how weekends are spent (the beach and the snowy mountainsides are his favorites) and, fortunately for us, how much exercise we get each day! He is such a gorgeous dog and wonderful companion...we might just have to take a look at his sister, Georgia, and her litter next spring." - Michael and Ara Andrea, Salem, Oregon

"[Duke] is now over six months old and very active. We recently moved to Bend/Redmond and he has discovered his new love... snow! We have had a great time going hiking in the nearby hills and mountains, and have loved watching him play in the endless acres of snow. I noticed on your website that you will have a new litter next month, how very exciting. I know that Amy and I both would love to get a sister for Duke to run and play with. I will keep watching your web page for updates. I cannot express to you how much fun, joy and love that Duke has brought to Amy and I. He is truly one of a kind!! We hope all is well with you and family... Best Regards." - Erik and Amy Fast

"We welcomed the newest addition to our family on June 7th. She is a Golden Retriever and we call her Sadie Mae! She is the best baby I have ever had! She didn't even cry her first night!!" - Wendy

"Just wanted to let you know that we took “Skippy” to the vet today and he checked out fine. He is a delightful little guy —- he's cuddly and playful, and Daniel (our 16 year old) is his constant companion! Emmy our 10 yo golden is not thrilled to have a small friend, but she is an excellent role model despite her reluctance.

Thanks! You did a nice job of matching our family with a puppy."
- Karen Stratton

"Liam is just 8 months old and has been amazing! Everyone he meets comments on his laid back mellow nature and how beautiful he is........Thanks again for everything, he is an amazing dog!" - Take care, Natasha

"I have wanted to email you and thank you again for bringing such a wonderful dog into this world. We just love him! He's gone to puppy school and first level dog obedience and seems to be quite happy. Dax has shown absolutely no obnoxious traits.

I just wanted to thank you again for breeding and loving and caring for such great animals."
- Take care, Gail

"We wanted to let you know how happy we are with our new member of the family......."Rocky", he has been a delight! He has a great disposition, has been in excellent health and even took Reserve Champion status at his first dog show.
